The level of bicarbonate was gradually decreased but anion gap and lactate level was gradually increased showing worsening of metabolic acidosis due to lactate. PaCO2 was severely decreased for compensation of metabolic acidosis due to increased lactate and associated respiratory alkalosis at hospital day15.
